Kellie Quarles | Volunteer Assistant Coach
Kellie Quarles was officially announced as a volunteer assistant coach with the Duke softball program on August 8, 2019. Quarles joined the Blue Devils after spending the previous three seasons as an assistant coach at Florida SouthWestern State College.
Quarles will coach the catchers and assist with the development of the Duke hitters and infielders.
Over her three years with FSW, Quarles has seen an abundance of success at the junior college level. During her three years with the Bucs’, she helped FSW capture three consecutive Suncoast Conference Championships, two FCSAA State Championships in 2017 and 2018, two NJCAA National Tournament appearances in 2017 and 2018, a 173-15 overall record and a 56-4 record in conference.
In Quarles tenure as the Buc’s hitting coach, FSW sported a team batting average of .385 and finished top 10 in the country in batting average each of the last two seasons. Last season, FSW finished 7th nationally in batting average with a .393 clip highlighted by a program record 59 home runs and 8.63 runs per game. Quarles was also integral in athlete development as she has coached nine NJCAA All-Americans and 13 players that have moved on to the Division I level.
Prior to coaching, Quarles caught collegiately at Western Kentucky University.
A native of Louisville, Ky., Quarles graduated cum laude from Western Kentucky University in 2013 with a degree in kinesiology and exercise science.
